Professional Development Day - July 31, 2012

008_1.jpgOn July 31st, the stakeholders from El Dorado and Primary Years Academy came together to celebrate the start of a new school year.  Principal Kristin Buckenham and Jean Segura presented the district's Blueprint for Student Achievement.

A clear focus for our students was reviewed. Both sites explored how the focus for student achievement was aligned with programs, practices, procedures and policies already set in place.

009.jpgAlthough many staff members at El Dorado and PYA recognized the hard work and commitment this endeavor will entail, it was evident, on that day, that the stakeholders believed that all students can learn; they know that success breeds success and they understand their role in controlling the conditions in which students are successful.

After an afternoon of data analysis, instructional delivery review and collaboration, the stakeholders were enthusiastic about embarking on a year full of change and brighter outcomes.

LOVE STOCKTON! 9/29/2012

Primary Years Academy (PYA) and El Dorado School would like to thank Calvary Church and Alpha Omega Ministries for adopting our shared campus for the Love Stockton Day on September 29th.  Their forty volunteers, along with several PYA parents and teachers, each spent four plus hours on a Saturday morning, beautifying our school.  They cheerfully and tirelessly weeded and cleaned up our school’s garden boxes, pressure-washed school walls and grounds, and pruned trees and bushes in the courtyards and along the fences.  Many also worked to alphabetize and organize the books on our library shelves.   Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a delicious hot dog barbeque together, compliments of Calvary Church.

It was a pleasure to meet and work with such a generous, hardworking and kind group of people. A special thanks goes to Nicole Garcia, from Calvary church, who recruited and organized this successful Love Stockton event.  We are grateful to be the recipients of the hard work done that day.   Thanks for making our school beautiful!
